HS Volleyball: Montrose falls to Fruita Monument in top-ranked match-up

FRUITA, Colo. (KKCO) It was a big match-up between two very talented volleyball squads; both Fruita Monument (9th in 5A) and Montrose (7th in 4A) were ranked and came in with 11-2 records.

But like their first meeting this year, the Wildcats came away with the win in three straight games.

The reigning SWL champions improve to 7-0 in league play and extend their winnings streak to seven matches.

This game looked like the last chance for Montrose to have a shot at surpassing the Wildcats in the league by the end of the season, but instead fall to 5-2 in the league.

The Indians are home next against Palisade on Thursday, while the Wildcats head to Durango on Friday.
