PALISADE, Colo. In Class 4A, after two years as Palisade's head coach of boys basketball, Brian Tafel put in his resignation. He will head to 5A's Rocky Mountain High School where he has been hired as the head boys basketball coach.
Tafel spent a total of five years working with Palisade's program as a JV, C-squad, and head coach. In 2012-2013, his first year at the helm, the Bulldogs earned the Western Slope League title for the first time since 2000.
"It was a hard decision just because of how great Palisade High School is, and the kids here are great," he said. "It was a rough day yesterday talking to the kids and kind of saying your farewells and your thank yous, but I owe a lot to Palisade and all the people here and players here."
