GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The year 2012 gave sports fans all across the state of Colorado something to remember.

Whether it was Peyton Manning becoming a Bronco or, for Western Slope sports fans, the Cedaredge Bruins winning their first state football championship, there's a lot to talk about if you're counting down the best of 2012.

Follow KKCO 11 Sports' roundtable discussion with Jamie Hamilton, Mike Krueger, Jim Davis and Greg Wentzel on what they say is the Top 12 Stories of 2012.

Under the list of KKCO 11 News' Sports Director Phil Stafford, the Fruita Monument boys' basketball team holds down the No. 7 spot.

The Wildcats won 25 consecutive league games before falling to Grand Junction 71-65 on Feb. 3 of this year.

Each year, every team in the Southwestern League plays ten league contests, meaning the Wildcats didn't lose for nearly three seasons inside of conference play.
