GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The year 2012 gave sports fans all across the state of Colorado something to remember.

Whether it was Peyton Manning becoming a Bronco or, for Western Slope sports fans, the Cedaredge Bruins winning their first state football championship, there's a lot to talk about if you're counting down the best of 2012.

Follow KKCO 11 Sports' roundtable discussion with Jamie Hamilton, Mike Krueger, Jim Davis and Greg Wentzel on what they say is the Top 12 Stories of 2012.

Under the list of KKCO 11 Sports Director Phil Stafford, Jesse Hoffschneider winning his first state wrestling title is the runner-up for best sports story of the year.

Hoffschneider pinned Thad Gallegos in the third round of the championship match for the 170lb weight class in Class 5A.

"It feels like a 1,000 lbs. has been lifted off your shoulders," said Hoffschneider after the victory. He had lost in the state championship match the previous two years.

Hoffschneider graduated in May and now wrestles for the Mavericks at Colorado Mesa University.
