GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- No. 1 Iowa Western came out with a force in today's matchup where they defeated No. 5 Neosho County 14-1 in a matter of five innings.
At the start of the game both teams had the determination to keep their team alive in game 12 of the series, but it was the Reivers that really brought the heat.
Damek Tomscha started off the big hits at the top of the first when he doubled to right center. With two on base, Levi Meyer stepped to the plate and drove the ball down the left field line getting two RBI, but the Reivers did not stop there. They went on to score seven runs in the inning and left the Panthers with a lot of work to do.
The top of the second was another time Iowa Western's power hitters including Tanner Krietemeier who homered into right center. In the end, the Reivers put another seven on the board, while Neosho could only answer with one run.
The Iowa Western Reivers will advance in the winners' bracket and play Thursday at 7:30pm.
The loss eliminates Neosho County Panthers from the 2012 JUCO World Series.
