GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)--The No. 8 San Jacinto Gators defeated the No.5 Neosho County Panthers in thrilling fashion in Game 10 of the 2012 Junior College World Series on Monday.
The Panthers came out swinging in the top of the third inning, scoring 5 runs on five hits. That was all the offense that Neosho County could muster however; as they were held scoreless for the rest of the game.
It took seven innings for San Jacinto to tie the game. Then the eighth inning arrived. Kirby Taylor sparked the comeback with a triple to left-center. The very next batter, Esteban Gomez, singled to left field and brought Taylor home for the first run of the rally. The Gators then went on to score three more runs to seal the win.
The Neosho County Panthers drop into the elimination bracket and will play Tuesday at 3pm against Iowa Western.
The San Jacinto Gators advance in the winners' bracket and will play Wednesday at 7:30pm.
