GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The No.1 Iowa Western Reivers put an end to the hot streak of No.10 Gordon College on Thursday and secured their spot in the championship game.
The Reivers started off the game with four runs in the first inning thanks to a grand-slam by Tanner Krietemeier. The runs didn't stop there as Iowa Western added two runs in the third ,three runs in the fifth inning, and one in the sixth inning.
The Highlanders, known for their offensive abilities, were handled by Iowa Western's pitcher Tanner Krietemeier. Krietemeier put up six strikeouts and allowed only five hits through six innings.
Iowa Western advances to the championship game on Saturday, and will play the winner between Gordon College and San Jacinto.
