GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)--The No. 8 San Jacinto Gators nearly shut-out the No.10 Gordon College Highlanders on Friday to advance to the championship game.

It was quiet through three innings for both teams, then the Gators opened up the scoring in the bottom of the fourth inning. Kyle Bacak drove in two runs with a double to right-center. Galli Cribbs then singled down the third base line to bring in Bacak and extend the lead to three. San Jacinto would later add two runs in the fifth inning, one in the sixth inning, and one in the seventh.

San Jacinto's starting pitcher,Daniel Stumpf, pitched all nine innings and almost shut-out the Highlanders if it wasn't for a run in the top of the ninth inning. Stumpf had six strikeouts and gave up ten hits on the day.

San Jacinto will play in the 2012 JUCO Championship game against the Iowa Western Reivers on Saturday at 7:00pm.

The Gordon College Highlanders are eliminated from the 2012 Junior College World Series.
