GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - The 55th annual Taco Bell Western Slope Open kicked off in the Valley with over 300 competitors ready to hit the courts.

Each year the open attracts tennis players and families of all ages and abilities, from kids 10 and under up to adults 770 years and older.

All proceeds from the tournament are donated back to the community for local programs and scholarships as well as tennis supplies.

The Elliotts, one of the most notable tennis families in the Valley, started the event back in 1958, and it has been going strong ever since.
