I have live across the street from one of the kids that live at this house. He has lived there longer then I have lived in my house, which has been 11 years. There is some minimal traffic at this house but nothing like that traffic at my own house. My Husband and I have 5 children between us, 4 driving and many other relatives that visit. I hope this does not mean that we are drug dealers. I know for a fact that if soemone was trying to break into our house my husband would do the same thing, shoot and ask questions later. He is all about protecting what is his, family. There is a new roomate of the homeowner that I do not feel comfortable with and has been in trouble with the law. The homeowner himself has kept to himself pretty much, I have never had any issues with him.

From what I understand from a friend who lives on that street the man that was shot believed the men in the house used his bank account to steal his money so he went to scare them and get his money back and after breaking a window to get in was shot. This in no way makes it a home invasion or makes OM some scary place. Open your minds people crime happens where ever you live its the people not the city, or location in the city to blame!! Don't lie, steal, do drugs, get into fights, ect and you will never see the dark side of this city other than on the new, its all about who you know and how YOU live. well besides the 25% of crimes that happen to everyday people by strangers but if you read up on it most, not all but most, the shootings in this town are between two people who at one time knew one another, and in many cases called each other friend at one time!!

Why is this a home invasion? If all parties know each other, I don't think it's a home "invasion". Sounds more like one party is pretty irritated at the other party to me.

My dad has lived on this street for 13 years right across the street from this house it was always a real quiet, nice neighborhood growing up and then these two guys moved in a couple years ago and we suspected they were up to no good (drugs) a ton of traffic and one guy even beat his girlfriend outside the house.. Something had to have gone wrong somewhere

If someone breaks into my home, I just hope I am there to confront them. No need to call the cops.....will be calling the coroner. My fear is if I am not home. I don't really have much worth stealing, but no one likes to be victimized.

Our town is changing; it seems for the worse; armed robberies, heroin busts and murders. If you see someone in your neighborhood that you don’t recognize, ask what they’re doing there. Watch your neighbor’s homes when they’re away. There are more of us than there are of them and I refuse to live in fear. Keep a camera handy. If you see a suspicious car, jot down a description and license plate number. They put the names and addresses of the people arrested for burglary in the Sentinel blotter. Make a note when they live in your neighborhood and you’ll know who to keep an eye on. Maybe you know where they work, if they do, and you can anonymously call their boss. Make life here hard for them but remember, an arrest is not a conviction but it’s a pretty good indication that you have someone in your neighborhood who should be a person of interest. This is our home and it’s worth fighting for.

Lucky he didnt try to get in my house or it wouldn't be a trip to the hospital. It would be a ride to the morgue!!!

Anyone who feels they need to see what I have in my home is liable to find out exactly what kind of weapons I have.
