Possible home invasion leaves intruder with possibly critical injuries

ORCHARD MESA, Colo. (KKCO) - According to investigators on the scene, one man has been shot and rushed to the hospital with possible "critical" injuries.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff's Deputies, two men were in the home at the time. Another man tried to force his way into the house, and was shot by one of the men inside the home at 197 Indiana Street.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Grand Junction Police are responding to a shooting on Indiana Street in Orchard Mesa.

Indiana Street between B and Highway 50 has been closed off for investigation.

A witness at the scene says one person has been taken to the hospital, and two people are detained.

It is not clear if the person rushed to the hospital was the homeowner, or a possible home intruder. We are working to gather more details. Stay with 11 News for more information on this developing story...
