You might say Leigh grew up at KKCO 11 News. She began here as an intern while in high school. In the many, many years since, she’s held a variety of posts and has come and gone four times. But it must be her true home, since she always comes back.
Leigh studied public relations and broadcast journalism back when it was Mesa State College, and got her Master of Education in Sport Administration from Wichita State University. Though there’s little here at the station she hasn’t done, she currently serves as our Noon Show Producer and Anchor and our 5:30 p.m. Producer. Leigh is passionate about help local businesses and organizations get the word out about the good news going on around town, so send your press releases to her!
Leigh proudly volunteers as the Publicity Chair for the Crime Stoppers of Mesa County Board of Directors and is a Board Member for the Colorado National Monument Association. Giving back to our great community is something she believes strongly in.
Weekends you’ll find Leigh and Boyfriend out with the dogs on adventures… be it on land or water, they love scuba diving, sailing camping, hiking, skiing, running and more. She also loves baking alcoholic cupcakes! Her favorite thing though is racing her old Mazda Miata around the Grand Junction Motor Speedway with the Red Rock Racers. Her best time, 1:09:99. Time for a turbo?
