Lisa McDivitt joined KKCO in December of 2008. As the morning show reporter, she has been able to jump right into the broadcast news business from both sides of the camera.
Lisa started her journalism career as a newspaper reporter on the sunny beaches of Southern California. She covered the city of Manhattan Beach for the Easy Reader, reporting on everything from city council and the school district to crime and the arts.
Before being a reporter, Lisa received her Master's Degree in Journalism from Columbia University in New York. While there, her stories ran in publications such as the Chicago Tribune and the Indianapolis Star.
Her background also includes owning and publishing an online magazine catering to assistants in the entertainment industry, and before that, actually being an assistant in the entertainment industry.
As an undergraduate at the University of Southern California, Lisa first learned to light a set, use a camera and edit raw video into a story. She also learned how to root for a winning football team.
A Colorado native, Lisa is happy to be back in her home state, where she can be closer to her family (when the weather is good) and report on stories in a place that's important to her.
Lisa's goal each day is to find and tell the stories that matter to people in the community.
