Zach joined the 11 Sports and News teams in July of 2013.
After graduating from Michigan State University with BA in journalism and specialization in sports reporting, Zach spent nine months as a photographer at WILX in Lansing, Michigan. While working at the NBC affiliate, he continued the internship he began at MSU with HOM-TV, a local government access news station. Between those two stations, Zach covered and reported on everything from MSU football and basketball, to every high school sport imaginable, to legislation at Michigan's Capitol. He also spent a summer in Princeton, NJ covering the 2012 Olympic rowing teams.
Outside the station, Zach loves to take a break from reporting sports, and do some his own. He was a four year varsity rower at MSU, and now continues to train for endurance sports. He also loves meeting new people, being with his family and friends, and can probably recite each line from any episode of Seinfeld. On Sunday's, you can bet he's struggling through another Detroit Lions game, his lifelong favorite team. If you have any story ideas, he's always open to suggestions!
