Lauren Whitney is the 11 News morning weather anchor and special segment reporter. She joined the KKCO family in 2007.
Originally from Minnesota, Lauren grew up in Phoenix and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science from Arizona State University. There she was on the Emmy-nominated show, "Cronkite NewsWatch."
Lauren is an avid sports fan and as the former "Game Host" for the Arizona Diamondbacks, she enjoyed interacting with fans and announcing contests on the JumboTron at Chase Field.
Though Lauren is a newsperson, she also loves studying the weather. This might be curious coming from someone who grew up in perpetually sunny Phoenix, but summers spent with family in northern Minnesota heightened her fascination with turbulent storms and varying weather.
