Gracetown, AUSTRALIA, (KKCO) - The man was surfing off the coast of Southwestern Australia.
The 31 year old was attacked while surfing alone early in the morning. Another surfer who helped pull the victim from the water said it was a severe bite and said the shark probably mistook the victim's leg for a seal.
Great White sharks are common in the waters off the Southwestern coast.
