MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO) - According to Sheila Reiner, Mesa County Clerk and Recorder, there was a "failure to get cards printed and to the Postal Service in time."
According to Reiner, election staff members are physically picking up Voter Information Cards that have already been completed and mailing them out as soon as possible.
But only 25 percent have been completed. That means 75 percent of registered Republicans won't receive their new VIC's by Tuesday night, which is the Republican Colorado Caucus.
Reiner says it is not mandatory to have a VIC when participating in a caucus. It is required to show ID, however.
Recent redistricting forced the Elections Office to issue new precincts to most Mesa County Voters.
To find out your new precinct address, call the Elections Office on Monday at (970) 244-1662.
