GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - According to the Grand Junction Police Department, around 6:00 o'clock Monday evening, they were called to a domestic dispute at the Wal-Mart on North Avenue.
When they arrived, a woman told them she had been assaulted by Jose Alonzo Ponce Lozoya. Police say they discovered Lozoya was wanted on a $25,000 warrant. They found him nearby at the Le Master Motel and tried to arrest him. That's when they say he punched an officer somewhere on the officer's body and took off on foot.
A K-9 unit was called in to track Lozoya, and a perimeter was set up around 28 1/2 Road, but he was not located.
Authorities say Lozoya faces 2nd Degree Assault charges. If you know where he is, please contact police.
