(KKCO) - Many parents are going online, looking for cheaper alternatives to get their students that extra edge in the classroom.
Online Tutor Solutions is a New Jersey-based program that offers semi-anonymous coaching over the internet. Found John Matlosz says the cost for one session can be as low as $25 per session.
He says, "All of our teachers undergo a background check in addition to their state certification. We don't share the last name or the address or the telephone number of the students with the teachers, so there's no opportunities for contact."
Here in Mesa County, beginning next semester, officials with School District 51 say the district will offer a full online curriculum, called 'Grand River Virtual Academy.'
Christy McGee with School District 51 says district officials are still working out the details, but she says the academy will not only offer full curriculums for K-12, but it will also offer free online tutoring.
The district is currently accepting applications. Click on the link below for more information.
