Annual Pottery Sale Fundraiser

The Art Center’s Ceramic Department will be staging their annual pottery sale in the Ceramics studio on Friday, September 5. The sale opens at 6:30 pm and will be up for 3 weeks during the month of September. This annual sale is a fundraiser for the Ceramics studio complex and raises funds for the acquisition and maintenance of equipment and tools and also contributes funds for class and workshop scholarships.
Instructors and students contribute work in stoneware, porcelain, raku and salt vapor to this sale. Many fine examples of functional and decorative ceramic work will be on hand and priced to sell. Come early to get the best selection!

Colorado Artist Tony Ortega will be at the First Friday Art Walk event on March 7th from 6-9PM at the Kurtzman-Lintott Gallery (412 Main Street). Enise Gard presents tales with a twist. Learn the ancient technique of origami while enjoying a tale or two about dinosaurs and a strange donkey. This program is sure to make you roar with delight as you create a unique origami creature or two! Appropriate for all ages. Parents are encouraged to participate in this 1 hour program. Make a dog, a Samurai helmet and a dinosaur. Color your creations and let your inner child shine through.

5th Annual Knit-a-thon

Knit-a-thon provides a space for knitters/crocheters of all ages and skill levels to come together and create hats and other items for the newborn babies at St. Mary's hospital and cancer patients in the oncology department, as well as the homeless who receive services at Homeward Bound. Friday night kicks off with a mystery dinner, fun and games, knitting/crocheting begins Saturday morning at 10am and continues all day until 7pm. Participants are welcome to join for the entire weekend or in part, is open to all ages and skill levels. Yarn, looms, needles, and hooks are provided.

Have a HeArt for the Community Art Show

Get a head start on holiday shopping! The Counseling and Education Center is hosting its’ ninth annual “HeArt for the Community” art show on October 11th at the Clarion Inn (755 Horizon Dr.) from 4-9 PM. Enjoy appetizers and cash bar while viewing a wide variety of works for sale by local artisans. Art by local youth will also be on display. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Counseling and Education Center’s low-income counseling program, providing counseling services to individuals and families in need.
