For young audiences, MRT will present The Stonecutter, written by Ruth Cantrell and directed by dance professor Megan Glynn. The script received “Best Children’s Play” from the Southwest Theatre Association in 1998. The story follows the life of an Aztec stonecutter who doesn’t feel his job is important, so his guardian angel changes him into various characters including the sun, the rain, and the wind. Written for children ages 6-12, this play teaches that we all have something important to contribute to the world. The show id Rated G and all seats are $5.

The Last Five Years will be directed by Jeremy Franklin and tells the story of the failed marriage of Jamie, a successful novelist, and Cathy, a struggling actress. Cathy’s story is told in reverse, Jamie’s is told conventionally, moving forward. They meet in the middle at the point of their wedding. The show is Rated PG-13.

The Colorado Mountain Club is thrilled to host the ninth annual world tour of the Winter Wildlands Alliance's Backcountry Film Festival at the Masonic Lodge in Grand Junction on Wednesday, April 2nd at 7pm.

The festival highlights the beauty and fun of the winter backcountry experience. The evening includes the year’s best ski films - promoting the work of grassroots filmmakers who tell compelling and entertaining stories of the backcountry, non-motorized recreation, and environmental preservation. Submissions come from renowned filmmakers who travel every corner of the globe to submit their best backcountry work, and from grassroots filmmakers who take a video camera out on their weekend excursions and submit their best film short. The films are juried by a select panel of judges and the top films are assembled into a 90-minute program. The evening will also include prize drawings & discounted CMC memberships!

$12 Tickets. All Proceeds Benefit the Colorado Mountain Club.

The Trials of Muhammad Ali - Documentary

Light Gives Heat is screening their full-length rough-cut documentary "Moving On." The documentary is about a young couple who gives up everything to see if they can effect the world around them and in the process are completely changed. The film documents Light Gives Heat founders, Dave and Morgan Hansow, and three of the friends they made in Uganda, Africa. Guests who fill out a short questionnaire after the screening will receive a free SUUBI necklace. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door.
