It's that time of the year again to Pour for Non-Profits! The Junior Service League of Grand Junction will host the 25th Annual U.S. Bank Viva el Vino on Saturday, April 12th. This wine-tasting event will be held at the Two Rivers Convention Center from 6pm-9pm. There will be over 200 wines to sample, beer from the Ale House, and food. There will also be an incredible silent auction with a wide array of items. All profits from Vivo el Vino are returned to non-profit organizations in Mesa County through JSL's Community Giving grants. Last year, $40,000 were awarded. Viva el Vino tickets cost $60 for General Admission or $90 for V.I.P., which serves even finer wines and champagnes in an exclusive seating area. Dance the night away with The Generations Jazz Ensemble (GJE) is comprised of musicians from the Grand Junction area that are committed to continuing the legacy of the "Big Band" music era of the 40's and 50's, and a few of the modern big band sounds of the 70's and 80's
Arrangements include songs from Glenn Miller, Woody Herman, Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, Arte Shaw, The Andrews Sisters, Stan Kenton, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Brian Setzer and many others. The Instrumentation for the GJE consists of five saxophones, three trumpets, three trombones, piano, upright bass, and drums.
Proceeds benefit St. Mary's Blood Donor Center. Hor d'Oeuvres served, Cash bar available. Tickets available through TicketWest and all City Market locations.
