Detox JumpStart week 3 - Debra Cahill, DOM, LAc
2817 North Ave, Grand Junction
Presented by Healers of the Valley & Spinning Tree Healing. The third in a series of four seminars geared toward giving you a jumpstart on detoxifying your system. Jump into Summer from Spring with dietary and detoxification suggestions from an Oriental medical perspective.
Debra Cahill is a Doctor of Oriental Medicine and Licensed Acupuncturist who treats patients in Grand Junction, CO. She will present dietary and detoxification ideas from this perspective to help you make a smooth, healthy transition from Spring to Summer.
The change of seasons is an ideal time to boost the body's health by assisting it with proper nutrition. Attention to diet at this time will revitalize and energize your core, using the energy of the incoming season to facilitate improved health. We look at "detox" from a very different perspective, in that not everyone has the same nutritional or detoxification needs. Food is considered to be medicinal.
More emphasis is placed on what one is to eat for the greatest health benefit, rather than what you do not eat. Many useful resources will also be provided so that you can take your own health back into your own hands.
Cost per seminar is $25, or $75 for all the seminars combined. Tickets available at City Market, by phone at 1-866-464-2626, or online at www.TicketsWest.com

Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike
by Christopher Durang
The 2013 Tony Award Winner for Best Play comes to the Grand Valley! A comedic riff on some of Anton Chekov's most time-tested themes tells the story of step-siblings Vanya and Sonia. Although they have never left the confines of their childhood home—a rambling farmhouse in Bucks County, PA—they have witnessed from afar tie glamorous exploits of their sister, Masha, a famous movie actress. A surprise visit from Masha and her 20-something boy toy, Spike, throws the normally quiet household into utter upheaval as its residents and visitors get swept up in an intoxicating mixture of lust, rivalry, regret, and the sudden possibility of escape. Only one thing is certain: no one will get out of this without looking absolutely ridiculous! (from tonyawards.com)
