This event has been growing each year with many animal rescue and support groups including everyone's favorite, Standing Bear, founder of The Thelma and Flash Hedgehog Rescue. See some live wolves up close and enjoy some good food. Four free admissions to the museum if you adopt an animal (must be used at a later date).

Maroon Bells Birthay Bash

Party like it’s 1964! It’s the 50th birthday of the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness, and Aspen is celebrating it with a big party, complete with cake and candles. And where better to do it than at Aspen Highlands, the gateway to the Bells?
The outdoor festival will feature four bands (Shook Twins, Paper Bird, Halden Wofford & the Hi-Beams and Let Them Roar), an address by author/activist Rick Bass, a Ute Nation ceremony, kids’ activities and wilderness displays.
Tickets and info are at www.maroonbells50.org. Admission is $10 for adults ($15 day of event) and free for kids 12 & under, and includes birthday cake! The Highlands Alehouse will offer special food and drink deals. Parking is free, but limited.

McInnis Canyons River Cleanup
Colorado River- Loma to Westwater section
Bring your boat and join us! Saturday and Sunday August 2-3rd, CCA and BLM will host a river cleanup in the Loma to Westwater section of the Colorado River.
We will camp together at the mouth of Mee Canyon along the river for a fun night of celebrating our work. CCA will provide dinner the night of the 2nd and breakfast the morning of the 3rd. We will also be giving out some river gear donated by REI during dinner.

Fruita Farmers Market

Fruita will be kicking off the 2014 Fruita Farmer’s Market season on Saturday, June 28th with vendors and artisans selling fresh local produce, baked goods, honeys, soaps and more. This free event runs every Saturday this summer through September 20th from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm at Civic Center Park in Fruita.
June’s Fruita Fall Festival Centennial event will be held during the first market day on June 28th and will be feature old-fashioned fair games for the entire family. There will also be a kiddie train in the Civic Center parking lot.
Each market will also provide live entertainment. Peggy Malone, “the Little Girl with the Big Voice” and western music artist, will provide some fun boot-stompin’, toe-tappin’ entertainment for our kick-off Market.
Vendor space is still available for vendors offering either regional produce or unique, handmade product lines.
