Ugandan Kids Choir Concert
Connection Church, 402 Grand Avenue, Grand Junction, CO 81501
The Ugandan Kids Choir, a group of ten talented Ugandan children, has announced that they will be performing at Connection Church (402 Grand Avenue, GJ) on September 21st, 2014 at 10 am. All ten children have been given hope through Childcare Worldwide’s Sponsorship Program and now they are here to spread that hope to audiences all across the United States. The choir has performed nationwide at churches, schools, at Disneyland, on King 5 Television’s “New Day Northwest,” at Qwest Field, home of the Seattle Seahawks, and on the steps of the White House.
These children delight audiences with traditional African songs and dances. Megan DiRienzo, Curator of Education at the San Angelo Museum of Fine arts says, “All of you have amazing talents, beautiful voices and some serious dance skills! A performance like yours was a once in a lifetime opportunity. We fully support you on your mission to end child poverty!”
The Ugandan Kids Choir is a ministry of Childcare Worldwide, which has been dedicated to empowering children in the developing world since 1981. Through child sponsorship, Childcare Worldwide brings hope to children in need by providing them with an education that will set them up for future employment and break the cycle of poverty in their lives.
By coming to this event, you will enjoy traditional African song and dance, as well as help children in need all around the world. So don’t miss this unique and authentic performance by the children of the Ugandan Kids Choir.

Mani•Fest Colorado 2014
, a one-day, citywide well-being event held in beautiful
Manitou Springs, Colorado
Our focus is to create a day of experiences that encompass a wide and diverse range of health and wellness activities, with
multiple events happening at each of the many Manitou Springs parks. W
e have invited like-minded musicians, artists, teachers,
yogis, chefs, and health driven individuals to come and share their love of community and art with us
– to teach and inspire,
and celebrate being alive! Our purpose for this day is to bring together people from all of these areas for a manifestation of mind,
body and spiritual well-being –
to educate and celebrate the whole self
through music, yoga, food, arts, and fitness. In addition to
our goal of educating and entertaining the public, we hope to invite the citizens of Colorado and the world back to Manitou Springs.
After recently suffering through many hardships and disasters, the community of Manitou Springs is ready to host an event such as
this, showing our resolve in the face of adversity and proving that we are a great destination for family fun, historical and cultural
tourism, outdoor recreation and exciting nightlife.
Sunday, September 21st, 2014, from 6am to 8pm
, this is a family-friendly festival that aims to educate as well as
entertain. The purpose of this community-oriented day-long festival is to “serve the whole you.” With the focus on health, wellbeing,
wholeness of mind, body and spirit, Mani•Fest Colorado 2014 is the collaboration between multiple local organizations. There will be
live music performances by local Colorado musicians, cooking demonstrations, a Garden of the Gods bike ride, mineral spring tours,
creative art workshops for all ages, and more! Visitors will enjoy water therapy demonstrations, drumming circles, kid’s cooking work
shop, music jams, yoga classes, dance and improv street performances, as well as many more exciting events that are being planned
as we prepare for the big day.
The community of Manitou Springs, along with our partners and sponsors, have created a celebration for the people of Colorado.
The town of Manitou Springs, located at the foothills of majestic Pikes Peak, is a diverse mountain community, focused on the arts,
creativity and a spirit of personal well-being. We have created Mani•Fest to express this unique outlook, and to share this way of
thinking with everyone. Mani-Fest will be held across many of the wonderful parks and venues in Manitou Springs and it’s surround
ing areas, creating a perfect backdrop for the concept of Mani•Fest. Scheduled for first day of Autumn, as nature’s colors change, the
town and surrounding areas will be the perfect environment for the day’s scheduled events.
We are in the process of seeking financial sponsors, and with the day-one support from Smokebrush, KRCC and the Colorado
Springs Independent, we are witnessing an amazing amount of interest from local businesses and organizations, pledging their sup
port to be a part of Mani•Fest. Word of mouth interest in Mani•Fest is beginning to grow, even at this early point in development, and
we are excited to begin educating the public and share with them our plans for this amazing day of fun!
Mani•Fest Colorado 2014, a festival serving the whole you!
