Time Flies

Jeanine Howe will direct Time Flies, an amusing collection of one-act plays by David Ives. Two mayflies realize their lifespan in the middle of a first date, a washing-machine repairman falls in love with a perfect washer, an out-of-work shmo decides to spend his day being painter Edgar Degas, two Babylonian blue-collar workers have to build the Tower of Babel, and more. David Ives is always original, zany and thought provoking. The show will be Rated R.

$17 for adults, $15 for seniors and $7 for students.

Super Rad HIgh School Art Show

Super Rad announces the tenth annual Super Rad High School Art Show, opening to the public Saturday, April 11, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Mesa Mall in the Sears wing.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Super Rad Mall Show, and many exciting things are planned to celebrate milestone. The gallery will display art from high school student’s grades 9-12 from area high schools, as well as a separate retrospective show displaying current artwork from those who have shown in the past. An awards ceremony for the student art work will be held at 7:00 pm. Community art in the space includes a felt wall for unique creations, as well as a car for patrons to “tag”. After making a mark on the car, the community is encouraged to stuff the car with donated art supplies that will be distributed to art programs and classrooms in the valley. Exhibit will remain open until Saturday, April 18, with the award ceremony at 7:00pm. Students will be presented with 1st place trophies for each category, a Best in Show, and People’s Choice award decided by patron votes.

Exploring western Colorado's National Conservation Areas

Since 2013, noted local landscape photographer Rob Kurtzman and Colorado
Canyons Executive Director Joe Neuhof, have explored these wild landscapes and
rivers to capture the photographic beauty of the landscape. Their efforts have
culminated in the upcoming exhibit and premiere event in downtown Grand Junction
featuring a limited release of Kurtzman’s first formal portfolio. See examples of

On Thursday March 26, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Kurtzman, will open his art
exhibit, "Exploring western Colorado’s National Conservation Areas.” The exhibit
will be at the Main Street Gallery, 412 Main Street in downtown Grand Junction.

Rock Art of the Colorado Plateau

Colorado Canyons Association and The Museum of Western Colorado are excited to offer an exciting evening of programing led by Museum Curator Zebulon Miracle. Join us for an interesting look at the rock art and cultures of the Colorado Plateau. We will start the night off at 6:00 pm with refreshments and a private tour of the rock art exhibit on display at the Museum of the West in downtown Grand Junction. Zebulon Miracle will then lead a fascinating talk about the cultures that created this beautiful rock art at the Whitman Education Building. The lecture is free and open to the public but donations will be greatly appreciated. The lecture will start at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 29th at The Museum of the West in downtown Grand Junction. The Counseling and Education Center is hosting its’ ninth annual “HeArt for the Community” art show on October 11th at the Clarion Inn (755 Horizon Dr.) from 4-9 PM. Enjoy appetizers and cash bar while viewing a wide variety of works for sale by local artisans. Art by local youth will also be on display. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Counseling and Education Center’s low-income counseling program, providing counseling services to individuals and families in need.

We now have meetings in the evening for those who work and those who can't make it to the noon meetings. The evening meeting is the first Thursday of the month from 6 pm to 8 pm. Paint it Forward

This is the third year for this Charity event, now formally known as “Paint it Forward”

At this special holiday time, SunShine Painting believes in supporting the community, and is committed to using their own talents and resources for the betterment of the local region. This commitment has inspired them to participate again in the “Paint it Forward” charity event. This year SunShine Painting will select five groups or individuals in need of interior painting services, and will donate up to $1000 in labor and materials (paint will be from our shop, colors limited) per project. The projects selected will be completed in Dec, Jan, or Feb. For a nomination forms go to and click “Paint it Forward” tab. Nominations close Dec. 24.
