Kids Free Day

2 children, ages 12 and under, will receive FREE admission with one paid regular priced adult admission. Cool Science will be here from 11:00am-4:00pm. “Super Cold Science Show” where you can make your own cup of ice cream…see what happens when ordinary objects are exposed to extremely cold temperatures. Shows will be at 12:00pm and 2:00pm with activities in between, before and after presentations. Come be engaged, inspired and excited at the wonders of science with “Cool Science”.

Ugandan Kids Choir Concert

The Ugandan Kids Choir, a group of ten talented Ugandan children, has announced that they will be performing at Connection Church (402 Grand Avenue, GJ) on September 21st, 2014 at 10 am. All ten children have been given hope through Childcare Worldwide’s Sponsorship Program and now they are here to spread that hope to audiences all across the United States. The choir has performed nationwide at churches, schools, at Disneyland, on King 5 Television’s “New Day Northwest,” at Qwest Field, home of the Seattle Seahawks, and on the steps of the White House.
These children delight audiences with traditional African songs and dances. Megan DiRienzo, Curator of Education at the San Angelo Museum of Fine arts says, “All of you have amazing talents, beautiful voices and some serious dance skills! A performance like yours was a once in a lifetime opportunity. We fully support you on your mission to end child poverty!”
The Ugandan Kids Choir is a ministry of Childcare Worldwide, which has been dedicated to empowering children in the developing world since 1981. Through child sponsorship, Childcare Worldwide brings hope to children in need by providing them with an education that will set them up for future employment and break the cycle of poverty in their lives.
By coming to this event, you will enjoy traditional African song and dance, as well as help children in need all around the world. So don’t miss this unique and authentic performance by the children of the Ugandan Kids Choir.

As an added bonus, the Thelma and Flash Hedgehog Rescue will be here with these unique mammals that are survivors from the time of the dinosaurs.

Colorado Mesa University's Children's Harvest Festival

Colorado Mesa University Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL) is hosting a Children's Harvest Festival on Saturday, Oct. 26. The Harvest Festival will be held at Colorado Mesa University's Academic Classroom Building, which is located at the corner of Elm and Houston avenues. The festival will run from 5-8 p.m. The price is $5.00 per child; admission is free for accompanying adults.

The Children's Harvest Festival is a safe, fun, and controlled environment for families with children between ages 3-12. The festival will include a crawl maze, ring toss, a ghost buster’s game, arts and crafts, cakewalk, and much more!

Partners Benefit Pistol Shoot

Come out with your handgun and 100 rounds of ammunition (no magnums) and shoot four courses of fire as an individual and/or sign up with two others to form a 3 person team and compete with local law enforcement and other local friends.
There will be Cowboy, USPSA and IDPA shooters running side shoots where you can shoot your guns. There will be loaner guns to borrow and try out for a separate fee plus ammo.
Many of your local law enforcement officers will be there to compete and to assist the public with their shooting. No experience is necessary as coaching will be provided. Come for a fun time, bring your family see how you stack up against local law enforcement and help PARTNERS help our kids.
