The public is cordially invited to a special performance of beloved American hymns for choir and symphony orchestra, conducted by Monte Atkinson, professor of music at Colorado Mesa University. Presented as the annual Stake President’s Concert of the Grand Junction West Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the program includes stirring renditions of The Lord is My Shepherd, Amazing Grace, The Spirit of God Like a Fire is Burning, Jesus, Once of Humble Birth, My Song in the Night, and other great hymns.
Featuring a choir of 95 voices with symphony orchestra, including harp, bagpipe, and pipe organ, these beautiful and powerful hymn settings bring to life some of our most treasured hymns. The program will last an hour and is best suited for those 8 and older. Seating opens at 6:30 pm.
