This is a full day community event filled with skateboarding and painting styles. The competition incldues prizes for 1st through 3rd place in each skateboarding category and a cash prize for the People's Choice Mural. Event is free for spectators. Register with Grand Junction Parks and Rec.

HIghline Hustle Sprint Triathlon

Highline Lake State Park located at 1800 11 8/10 Road in Loma 81524
This event includes a 500 meter swim in Highline Lake, a 16 mile bike race and a 3.5 mile trail run. Register online at www.gjcity.org. Make sure to register by May 17 and save money. Fees:
Individual divison: $65/$95 after May 17
Team division: $120/$150 after May 17
Extra meal: $10
Campsite reservations are for both Friday and Saturday night.

Join "Cactus Man", Don Campbell for an annual walk. Pick your preferred day to walk, Thursday or Saturday. Learn how to identify a variety of cacti, succulents,and other desert plants. This is approximately 2 miles round-trip with an estimated 500-foot elevation gain. Bring water, sunscreen, and good walking shoes.
