Underage drinking is taking a toll on our community. Lives have been lost and families destroyed. The 11 News staff was compelled to take an in–depth look at the problem.

Saturday, April 11 the 11News team brought you an in-depth special report. During this half-hour special we examined why kids drink and how to talk to your kids about alcohol use. We also went inside law enforcement's efforts to crack down on teens who drink and found what some teens are choosing to do instead of getting drunk.

We also created an on-line edition and compiled a special section called "Power For Parents". We filled it with valuable information and links to local resources available to help you start talking to your teen about the dangers of underage drinking. That information is available now and we encourage you to search through it because it's never too early to talk to your kids about the dangers of underage drinking.
