Organized teen groups and local high schoolers are working hard to get across the message that underage drinking can ruin lives.

Students at Palisade High School are putting together a film to show at school.

They stage a party, then run out of alcohol and go to make a liquor store run.

In the process the drunk underage driver gets in a car wreck and kills an innocent person.

In the film the students also hold a mock memorial for the victim and follow the drunk driver through sentencing.

Students say their the project is very relevant to their lives and they are hoping to reach their peers.

Diane Goff says, “You hear in school all the time, ‘I got so wasted last weekend. Oh my gosh, I don't even remember it!’ You do want that to happen anymore.”

Students plan to show the video to their classmates before prom.

They hope it sends a strict message: don't drink.
