The National Weather Service is conducting a statewide test of Colorado's tornado warning system.
Dallas Police say possible tornadoes have touched down in the southern part of that city as a band of severe weather moves through northern Texas.
Through the next couple days winds will be quick moving coming out of the southwest bringing in dry air. This will promote fire weather danger from today through Friday as wind gusts could be as high as 40mph during the afternoon. Dry fuels at the surface are lacking through the northern Grand Valley therefore a red flag warning has not been issued through the area. However, areas south of I-70 namely Montrose, Delta, and Gunnison county will be under the warning from noon to 9pm tomorrow. These winds will also usher in very warm air helping to heat up the surface bringing afternoon highs into the middle to upper 80's through the rest of the week and into the weekend.

As the Grand Valley quickly approaches the end to many growing seasons, there is one crop that still hasn't hit its peak, tomatoes. In a normal season, many growers will start picking ripe tomatoes shortly after the 4th of July.
