Grand Junction, CO(KKCO)-Clouds and rain will exit the Western Slope shortly after lunch and continue to push their way north east. Most of the state will see lingering showers and thunderstorms until early afternoon, with the storms strengthening as you move towards the Colorado-Wyoming state line. Windy conditions are expected for the Grand Valley and most of the western slope this afternoon with wind gusts reaching 30 to 35 miles-per-hour. Look for winds to taper off shortly after the sun goes down due to the loss of solar heating.

The higher elevations could see some lingering showers due to forced lifting but should also clear out before the day ends.The front range may see a stray shower or two into Tuesday but the remainder of the week looks sunny and warm.

After today's early round of showers and wind moves out, clear skies and lots of sun will that its place. The Grand Valley will be sunny and gradually getting warmer as the week progresses. Temperatures will be back to near normal by mid-week with lots of sun. The models show a dry and warm weekend as of now, just a few clouds passing through with temperatures expected to be slightly above normal.
