Undated (AP) Several states from the central U.S. to the mid-Atlantic are in the path of a sloppy and even deadly mix of snow and ice.
Parts of Kentucky are coated with an inch-and-a-half of sleet and freezing rain that’s been knocking down trees and power lines and causing transformers to explode. As much as 5-to-10 inches of snow could also fall.
Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri are getting ready for a second day of winter weather. Southern and central Missouri should expect more freezing rain, sleet and snow, to make hazardous driving conditions even worse. Five people have died in accidents so far.
Parts of Maryland could also have five inches of snow by the time the storm finishes passing through the region tomorrow.
