Magee, Miss. (AP) Authorities in Mississippi say a possible tornado has struck at least one small town, seriously damaging some homes and businesses and injuring residents.

Police in Magee reported to the storm prediction center in Oklahoma that “major damage” occurred early Thursday morning on the north side of the town of about 5,000 people. At least one injury was reported there.

There were other scattered reports of downed trees, power lines and damaged homes across southern Mississippi.
