PARIS (AP) - The French Insurance Federation has estimated costs of the weekend storm that devastated France's Atlantic Coast and killed 53 people at some $1.36 billion.
The Federation President Bernard Spitz says that price is not final since flooding continues in the Vendee and Charante–maritime regions.
Hurricane–force winds and high tides early Sunday were too much for old sea walls.
Interior Minister Brice Hortefeux said Thursday that another body had been found, raising the death toll to 53, with seven others seriously injured.
