CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - There are now at least 18 deaths from flooding along the Cumberland River and its tributaries in Tennessee.
A woman died when she drove off a road into water Monday night near Clarksville.
Montgomery County Government Spokeswoman Elizabeth Black told the Leaf-Chronicle newspaper the 70-year-old woman is the county's first flood-related fatality. The victim's identity wasn't immediately released.
Besides the 18 known flooding deaths, one additional death in the weekend storms across Tennessee came from a tornado.
