GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - After four straight days of high winds, sometimes topping out at 45 miles per hour, the weather is finally nice and acting like Spring.

With a high of 75 degrees Tuesday locals couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day to make them forget about the last four.

“It’s been too long of a winter. Summer just needs to get here,” says Sarah Anderson who spent Tuesday afternoon enjoying the warm weather.

At Canyon View Park, pet owners were enjoying the sunshine with their pooches. “It was sunny outside so we brought the dog to go play in the water,” says Lauren Nisley.

And while the hounds splashed around, it was a perfect opportunity for their owners to bask in the sun.

“I love it! It’s really good to get a tan going and stuff,” says Kristin Meldrum.

Down on Main Street, a relaxing stroll and something cold was the best way to spend the day. “It’s really pretty down here so we thought we come get gelato and look at everything,” says Carsyn Rogers.

And everyone is hoping the nice weather is here to stay. Unfortunately, the 11 News forecast says the winds will pick up again Thursday and Friday.
