After above average temperatures the last several days cooler weather is on the way for the weekend. But not after another very warm afternoon here in the Western Slope. Dry and strong southwest winds will be felt today across the area ahead of an approaching low pressure system which has prompted the issuance of another red flag warning across the viewing area. Winds will be sustained at 15-25mph with gusts up to 35-40mph to areas below 8000'.

As the Grand Valley quickly approaches the end to many growing seasons, there is one crop that still hasn't hit its peak, tomatoes. In a normal season, many growers will start picking ripe tomatoes shortly after the 4th of July.
