GRAND JUNCTION, CO (KKCO)_Windy conditions aren't just making for dusty days here in the valley, they are also contributing to our high rivers.
As the warm winds blow from the desert southwest those warm temperatures and wind really get the snow melting on the Mesa.
The winds act like a blow dryer on an ice cube and can actually melt inches of snow in a day.
All that water makes it's way down into the creeks and then the rivers, and all that water is really causing concerns here in the Valley.
Officials are warning residents to say away from the rivers and even away from the river banks as they are saturated and can cave in at any time.
