GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -

New changes for the spring semester at Colorado Mesa University are coming as school officials say they’re eager to be starting the semester with an increase in their COVID-19 test result times.

They’re now able to get results back either the same day or the next day-- something they really look forward to when it comes to baseline testing, which they’ll be doing once again when students return to campus.

They will also continue to do random and wastewater testing, and will contact trace as needed.

Right now, the plan for spring break is to push it later in the semester and transition to remote learning for the remainder of the semester.

“I think given, you know, our experience first semester, students are excited, they keep telling us that that’s what they want—that they wanted to be in person and I think,—I know we will have more classes with more time to plan live and in-person,” says President of CMU, Tim Foster.
