GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - – Mesa County Libraries have partnered with the Center for Children to feature a large, outdoor mural on the Central Library located at 443 N. 6th Street in Grand Junction. The painting, completed in early June 2021, represents a new partnership for two longstanding pillars of the community in the support of Mesa County’s children. The mural is 18 feet tall and 22 feet in length. Total square footage is approximately 396 square feet.

“The Center for Children and Mesa County Libraries have a common goal of providing a safe place for the children of our community to grow, find resources, learn and prosper,” stated Mistalynn Meyeraan, Executive Director for the Center for Children. “The connection of using this space for our mural is that the library offers a highly visible location with an environment of encouragement for growth and safety for the children in Mesa County. In 2021, we are seeking opportunities to bring awareness to the work that we as a child advocacy center do that ‘uplifts’ the community.”
