GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - After a canceled minor league season in 2020 baseball is back in full force in the Grand Valley. The Grand Junction Rockies had their home opener last night, and they have another home game tonight.

Typically we have a very busy spring / summer season with JUCO and Grand Junction Rockies opener being back to back so minor league baseball’s absence has been painful for fans of one of America’s most popular pastimes. With a year off due to the pandemic, players are antsy to get back into the game action, but more importantly, they’re ready to give the fans what they desire most: summer baseball.

In another sign that things in the local sports world are getting back to normal since the COVID-19 pandemic began last March, the Grand Junction Rockies will operate at full capacity for the remainder of the 2021 baseball season. There is plenty to be excited about as there are different promotions every night of the week. Tomorrow will feature Friday night fireworks.

Each home game of the season will be Wednesday through Monday.
