GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Various departments responded to a car accident that happened shortly before 9:45 p.m. Friday night on North Avenue near the VA Hospital. According to the Grand Junction Police Department, two vehicles were involved. The east-bound lanes were also closed between 18th and 23rd Streets for a time.

The Grand Junction Police Department says while they were investigating the crash, officers found suspicious items belonging to one of the drivers involved.

The Bomb Squad was called to the scene and they reportedly found parts of a butane hash oil lab. GJPD says all of the components were rendered safe.

One man was arrested following the incident. 56-year-old Brian Eastman of Grand Junction is facing several charges including unlicensed manufacture of marijuana concentrate using a hazardous substance, criminal possession of two or more financial devices, criminal possession of an identification document, and possession of schedule I/II over four grams.
