Due to the recent precipitation and minimal fire behavior over the weekend, firefighters were able to put a line completely around the Hicks Fire. The fire was reported controlled by 12 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 1. Throughout the weekend, firefighters performed cleaning up operations and patrolled the fire perimeter monitoring the area for any signs of fire activity.

The fire will continue to be in patrol status for the next several weeks.
