A Midwesterner all his life, Brad joined the weather team as Daybreak Meteorologist in August 2015. After graduating with a degree in atmospheric sciences from the University of Wisconsin – Madison (Go Badgers!) in 2010, and earning a degree at the Illinois Center for Broadcasting in 2012, he moved to Rockford, Illinois to join the weather team at WIFR as their weekend meteorologist. Now, for the first time in his life, he has stepped away from the middle of the country and is taking on life as a meteorologist on the Western Slope.
In addition to his work and education, Brad has been a weather nut his entire life. As far back as he can remember, he has wanted to be a meteorologist. From rushing home after school to watch the Weather Channel to forecasting for his family and friends growing up, it has always been his passion. He also has taken several opportunities to go storm chasing, including a class while attending UW, seeing several large thunderstorms, including tornadoes, up close and personal. While he enjoys that, he’s also happy to now be in a part of the country where tornadoes are not typically a weather hazard!
Brad is enjoying living in Western Colorado so far, and is enjoying getting to know the area even better. He loves getting outdoors and taking in the beautiful scenery of the Western Slope. If you have any suggestions for him to check out, feel free to let him know!
