Erin Crooks

Grand Junction, CO

Erin’s interest in broadcast journalism started at a very young age. She used to love watching her local news station and has always been passionate about public speaking. That’s when she knew becoming a journalist was the career for her.

Originally from Sacramento, CA, Erin competed for her high school’s speech and debate team in the state championships. Since she was 7 years old, Erin dedicated most of her free time towards competitive swimming. She eventually went on to swim in college as an NCAA athlete at Trinity University in San Antonio, TX.

When she wasn’t in the pool, Erin spent much of her time working for her college’s television station. She spent two years as head anchor and eventually went on to become Executive Producer of the news show, Newswave. During her time in college, she was a news intern at KCRA 3 in Sacramento and at KSAT 12 in San Antonio. She graduated in May of 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Communication with a minor in Political Science.

When she’s not in the newsroom, Erin loves hitting the gym, traveling and spending time with friends and family. She also loves trying new restaurants, watching Netflix, and cannot resist a shoe sale online.

Erin is excited to be starting her broadcast journalism career in Grand Junction. You can keep up with her on Twitter and Facebook. If you have any story ideas, Erin would love to hear from you! You can email her at
