Before the Western Slope, he spent a year at KMIR in Palm Springs, CA where he covered President Obama's visit with Chinese President Xi. He was also on the front lines of several California wildfires and interviewed the first person ever cured of HIV known as the ‘Berlin patient’.

Matt’s always loved politics and news. He knew, early on, Broadcast Journalism would be the career for him.

Matt’s visited much of the U.S., several countries in Europe and sailed through the Caribbean. He likes to hike, read and Netflix (yes, he uses it as a verb). He's also not embarrassed to admit he hasn't missed a single episode of Survivor!
