GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Locomotives big and small attracted folks to Cross Orchards yesterday and today for the 31st annual Christmas Train Show.
Visitors went inside the historic trains on the property to see, hear, and touch a piece of the past. Folks were able to see model trains, too, and even saw a visit from Santa. Cross Orchards focuses on the Grand Valley’s history and they say that trains play a big part of that.
“Knowing the history of where you live is very important because basically you know why things happening, why buildings are in said location, but also it just puts you in touch with your roots. Even if you moved here last year, it’s still important to know that Grand Junction has a very strong agriculture and transportation history,” says Matt Darling, curator of Cross Orchards.
If you missed it this weekend, Cross Orchards still has the show every weekend in December.
