GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.(KKCO) In July, No Coast Sushi hosted a fundraiser, donating 20 percent of all restaurant proceeds to the Grant a Wish Program. Thanks to community involvement, the restaurant was able to raise nearly $1,300, which they presented to the program directors on Tuesday.
The Grant a Wish Program is a local scholarship program designed to help children fund opportunities they may not normally have.
“It's very exciting to see something that a group of community citizens decided was important is flourishing,” said Makenzie Dodge, a member of the Board of Directors for the Grant A Wish Program.
Since the program began in 2008 the Grant a Wish Program has helped over 450 kids.
